We have MYSTIFIED the doctor......

Does that really surprise you about us, though? If you know us well, you know that not only do we have an uncanny knack of getting some type of sickness right before a scheduled vacation (thankfully that crises quickly abated and we did go to florida), but we also have a sweet ability to contract something so strange it stumps medical professionals.

Our pediatrician wasn't open today (which is odd bc he's usually open on saturdays), so we took Nancy Claire to the urgent care clinic first thing saturday morning to see what this "rash" is on her body - this rash we thought was bug bites, but is spreading and now John Brady has it almost as bad as hers. So, we were the first there, and it still took us two hours, but I won't get on that soapbox.

So, she wants to say it's chicken pox because of the pattern, appearance, etc. The bumps don't have that vesicular appearance, just look like pimples or ant bites, but the distribution is VERY similar to chicken pox. So she gives us a diagnosis of exclusion (which basically means "let's give it a name and check them out but I haven't a clue what it really is") of impetigo???? HHHUUUHHHH.

So as the day goes on, i have begun to convince myself that it'sprobably the pox but we will go first thing monday AM to see our pediatrician and if necssary a dermatologist.

so I will miss church AGAIN tomorrow morning!!!! And John is supposed to ride a mechanical bull???????? I don't really know what that is all about except Yancey Jr says he's not missing church tomorrow because he wants to see "Doctor J" ride that bull.......

But, the day wasn't a total loss - we let them have a short nap, but we had errands to run before we find out that we really do need to quarantine ourselves. And we shouldn't have cut their naps short because they were TERRIBLE at the mall. I'll leave it at that, suffice it to say that everyone around us was probably tired of them as well.

But we came home tonight, had a water balloon fight, played some Super Monkeyball with Yancey JR and Yancey SR and now everyone is in bed except me......story of my life.
